Regimental History
Second New York Provisional Cavalry. — Col., Charles L. Fitzhugh; Lieut.- Col., Harrison White; Majs., Robert H. S. Hyde, George W. Goler, George E. Farmer. This regiment was formed by the consolidation of the 6th and 15th regiments of cavalry on June 17, 1865. Under the command of Lieut.-Col. White, it was mustered out on Aug. 9, 1865, at Louisville, Ky. Its loss from disease and other causes was 12 men.
