98th Indiana Infantry
in the American Civil War

Regimental History
Ninety-eighth Indiana Infantry. — This regiment was ordered to be recruited in the 8th Congressional district under the call of July, 1862, with Lafayette as its place of rendezvous. Two companies were raised, and these were finally assigned to the 100th regiment, then organizing in the 10th Congressional district.
